• Ellie Benson
    Ellie Benson Apprentice

Hello, my name is Ellie and I’m 16. I live in Castleford with my mum and Crossgates with my dad on a weekend. I have a large family and I am one of the eldest children, so I have had plenty of hands-on experience and am very passionate about working with children. I love creating bonds with children and watching them progress. I have only been here for a short time, but can already see that a role in childcare is going to be extremely rewarding for me. My apprenticeship is associated with Leeds City College and I will work full time at Barwick Daycare, as well as spending days in college studying the theory of childcare. I will eventually gain a Level 3 CACHE diploma in childcare. I am looking forward to the practical hands-on learning experience.

  • Chloe Galey
Chloe Galey Deputy Manager/Pre school room leader

My name is Chloe, I am qualified in children’s, play, learning and development which I completed through sixth form. I am currently studying a degree in Early Childhood Studies at Selby college, through Hull university of which I am now in my final year. From my past two years studying my degree I have gained a level 5 in Early Childhood studies, which will then become level 6 by the end of the year. Throughout my education experience, I have done placements working in schools and nurseries working with children from birth-8 years. In the future, I am hoping that I will be able to complete my full teaching qualification, with the support from Barwick Daycare. I look forward to this journey, and the experience I will gain working within this unique setting.

  • Georgia Hemsworth
    Georgia Hemsworth Setting Manager

My names is Georgia Hemsworth. I have always worked with children since leaving college 4 years ago. I studied level 3 childcare for 2 years and within that time did a placement in nursery and primary schools before getting a permanent job in a nursery. Last year I joined Lisa and became a qualified childminder, we are all from different areas of childcare, therefore, we have created a unique setting which I am very proud of. Childcare is the most rewarding job to me, been part of a child’s life, development, watching them grow and treating them as our own.

  • Lisa Oldfield
    Lisa Oldfield Owner Manager

My name is Lisa Oldfield. I set up Barwick Daycare because when I was a working full-time mum with 2 children I was never totally satisfied with the Nursery I used, and when I asked parents they too had similar experiences. My youngest went to a childminder and she just loved it. So I have taken the good elements from both services and made a hybrid of the two. Using highly qualified staff that you rarely find in nurseries. I have handpicked each and everyone, including my partner Georgia. Day to day, I look after all the paperwork and overlook the service and standards. Emma manages the Pre-School room with Chloe, and Georgia, on her return from maternity, will manage the Baby room along with Tracey and Zoe. Ellie is our apprentice and she completes our unique team. We strive to give the best childcare service we can possibly offer using all our collective skills and experience.
